About Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.

SEL introduced the world's first digital relay in 1984, revolutionizing the power protection industry by offering fault locating and other features for a fraction of the cost of earlier systems. In the years since, SEL has grown and developed a complete line of products for the protection, monitoring, control, automation, and metering of electric power systems.

SEL sells products in more than 100 countries worldwide. More than 45 SEL Technical Service Centers around the world provide the best customer service and sales support in the industry.

In October 2006, SEL put the finishing touches on a new 17,000-square-foot Event Center, built for such SEL activities as company functions, meetings, and training. The center was also built to be a shared asset with the community and is available for your private functions. From the main lobby, the center has a 1,000-square-foot training room and 780-square-foot boardroom on one side, and an identical training room on the opposite side. Past the lobby, visitors can find a 7,100-square-foot main room with projectors, cameras, three drop-down screens, and a full lighting and sound system. There is also a kitchen area for catered events. SEL filled a company and community need for a facility to hold large functions and public events.
